Level 2/3 Desktop Engineer/ IT Support

  • It is a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday, starting at 10:00am.
  • The business is small and team-focused, based in St Peters.

 

You will have the opportunity to start work at 10:00am in return for your flexibility and ability to meet customer requirements. On occasions when extended hours or weekend work is required, time off in lieu will be provided.

This is a permanent full-time role. The focus is on finding someone with the right mix of technical capability and team fit.

About the Role
Catalyst is seeking a Level 2/3 Desktop Engineer to support clients throughout Sydney. You should have at least three years of experience working on a service desk (preferably in an MSP environment), managing incidents and service requests related to desktop support, infrastructure, and security.

 

Day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Server troubleshooting (on-premise and cloud)
  • User account and access management
  • O365 and Exchange incident response and request fulfillment
  • End-user computer preparation and setup
  • Security incident response
  • Azure and Active Directory administration
  • OneDrive and SharePoint support
  • Networking troubleshooting
  • Firewall and remote access management
  • Laptop and desktop troubleshooting
  • WAN and LAN troubleshooting
  • Router troubleshooting
  • End-user service and peripheral troubleshooting

 

What sort of person are we looking for?

  • Ability to handle busy, high-pressure situations efficiently
  • Familiarity with IT support ticketing systems (ideally Atera)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and follow-up on outstanding items
  • High level of customer service and adherence to service management processes
  • Proficiency in Windows Server, backup applications, and virtual environments
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10, laptops, desktops, and basic Wi-Fi systems
  • Good understanding of current technologies
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Desired Skills and Certifications

  • Tertiary qualification (degree or TAFE)
  • Microsoft certifications (Windows 10, Server)
  • Minimum of three years in an IT support role with a focus on troubleshooting
