Based in between the beautiful seaside town of Old Bar and Taree, Ironwood is Australia’s most sustainable environmentally friendly timber mill. They supply heavy industrial hardwoods from managed forests to wharf and bridge builders Australia wide. In turn Ironwood recycle the hardwood which is being replaced in each project – and also re plant trees to replace what is being taken through their future forest replanting scheme.
Ironwood also has firewood operations, a laminating plant and wood machining plant……and also supply locally for projects such as fencing and decking.

About the Role:
We’re on the hunt for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to become an integral member of the team and work closely with the existing long term Maintenance Fitter.
The work involves break down repairs, preventative maintenance, and project/ improvement works.
Your demonstrated experience in a Manufacturing and Production environment will be utilised to ensure the range of timber Machines, optimising equipment, fixed and mobile plant, materials handling process machines and high-tech automation down time is minimised – proactive, detailed and organised.
Skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience carrying out machinery repairs and maintenance within manufacturing and production environments with a stable track record (ESSENTIAL)
- Ability to engage with machine operators to enhance the overall efficiency of the plant and the reductions in machine down time
- Formal Fitter Turner trade qualifications will be highly regarded but are not essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics
- Electrical experience – Certified for Test & Tag will be highly regarded
- General Fabrication and Workshop skills
- High levels of self-motivation, dedication, initiative and reliability are essential
- Willingness to work overtime when breakdowns occur.

- A Full-Time PERMANENT role based in Pampoolah, between Taree and Old Bar
- Work hours of Mon-Fri 7:30am to 3:00pm with very occasional Saturday’s required
