About the Role:
As a Graduate Accountant you will have the opportunity to gain an in depth understanding of tax consultancy, tax compliance and financial services from the ground up. The firm has a separate corporate advisory, bookkeeping and self-managed superannuation teams and you will be provided with access and exposure to all aspects of the greater team.

You will provide support to the Accountants and Partners and be responsible for a wide range of duties:
•    Primary role being preparation of individual taxation returns
•    Assistance with workpapers and preparation of various company & trust financial statements, tax returns and GST returns.
•    General assistance with the processing of bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
•    Assistance with compliance issues related to matters arising from PAYG, GST, Superannuation, and other government agencies
•    Electronic filing of client’s records, preparation of statutory documents for companies and trusts, and other statutory records for clients.
•    Along with any other activities to ensure positive and efficient outcomes for clients.
•    Liaison with offshore teams as required.

 

We’re looking for someone with initiative, attention to detail and a flexible common sense approach who enjoys variety, and is willing and able to take on any task that is required.
Your exceptional organisations skills and time management will be utilised when effectively dealing with your daily priorities. The role offers variety and long-term career progression. 

 

Your skills and experience:
•    A relevant degree such as Bachelor Business majoring in Accounting or Bachelor of Commerce.
•    Experience in an Administration role where record keeping and accuracy were essential (will be highly regarded but not essential).
•    Previous experience within a Professional Accounting Firm will be HIGHLY REGARDED (this includes income tax specialists such as H&R Block – as well as formal Internships).
•    Well developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
•    Strong customer service focus, ethical standards, confidentiality, and sense of loyalty.
•    Demonstrated attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
•    Be self-motivated and have the ability to use common sense and initiative.
•    Understanding of the importance of prioritisation, deadlines and ability to meet them accordingly.
•    Strong Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, & Outlook.
•    Proficiency in Xero.
•    Experience with dealing online with ASIC, ATO, CAS and BankLink will be advantageous.
•    High level personal presentation. 
•    Excellent team and big picture focus.
•    Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks quickly and to work autonomously.
