About Old Bar, Taree and the Mid North Coast of NSW
The Mid-North coast is home to beautiful beaches, tranquil rivers, rainforest, volcanic hinterland, a comfortable climate, and offers affordable living.
Just a few hours’ drive north of Sydney, Taree is at the heart of the beautiful Manning Valley on the North Coast of NSW. The town is by the Manning River, a popular waterway for fishing, boating and rowing. Delicious oysters are farmed in the meandering river and nearby Great Lakes.
This role is based in between the beautiful seaside town of Old Bar and Taree at Pampoolah.

For over 20 years, Ironwood Australia has been milling Australian hardwoods. A distribution network across NSW and SE QLD. We have a long history with timber. Investing heavily in the future, through R&D into new products, as well as sustainable plantations. It’s simple. We plant a tree for every tree we use.
Your Next Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager your key focus is day-to-day operational management including safety, production, compliance and engaging a committed work force. You will be instrumental in driving change and fostering a safety-first mindset and ensuring optimal, sustainable output is achieved.
A typical day will include:
- Managing safety across the team and mill,
- Manage daily coordination meetings, including toolbox and safety meetings,
- Planning, co-ordination and supervision of daily production and resource management,
- Ensuring finished product quality and presentation meets grading rules and customer requirements,
- Assist with inbound and outbound logistics and customer deliveries,
- Work with maintenance to ensure safe operation of plant and equipment,
- Leading continuous improvement efforts that result in sustained improvement in performance,
- Work with the company’s inventory system to manage inventory levels,
- Setting a positive example and training the team to reach their full potential in all facets of mill operations.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in safety-first leadership,
- High EQ / EI and experience managing diverse teams,
- At least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or similar environment,
- Experience mentoring and coaching people to enhance their skills etc.,
- Willingness to learn and further your career within a progressive company,
- High level of problem-solving experience,
- Collaborative approach to team building and development,
- Passionate about reaching goals,
- Drivers licence (Must have),
- Forklift licence (Ideal, not essential),
- First Aid (Ideal, not essential).
