About the role:
We’re on the hunt for a skilled Estimating professional with demonstrated experience in liaising with Project Managers and contractors to accurately compile quotes, estimates and tenders – as well as to negotiate the optimum combination of quality, time, and cost. You will also liaise with the contractors throughout the Perspective, Tendering and Construction Phase of the projects to ensure contract conditions are adhered to.
Whilst your experience in end to end estimating processes (calculating the total cost and duration of a project inclusive of Materials and Labour, utilising estimating software, creating formal quotes & estimates, liaising with & providing relevant details to Operations Manager, Project Managers, Sales Team & Finance) is critical, it is your ability to apply your big picture focus and be proactive and efficient that will ensure your success.
Demonstrated experience within the building/ construction industry is ESSENTIAL……..Ideally with experience in the following:
- Protective coatings - vapour blasting, epoxy and polyurea applications, scratch coating
- Concrete repairs
- Structural crack repairs
- Concrete remediation
- Anything similar to the above
Your skills and experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated experience in an estimating role within the building/ construction industry.
- Ability to read & interpreting plans & drawings.
- Demonstrated understanding of pricing including variations.
- Strong computer literacy skills (Estimating Software, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders including Project Managers, Finance and Sales staff.
- Ability to liaise with Contractors to ensure all required information is gathered and negotiated effectively to provide accurate estimates and quotes.
- Exceptional attention to detail, methodical approach and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work autonomously.
- Proactive ‘big picture’ focus to identify potential contract compliance issues etc.
- Highly self-motivated, committed, team focused and reliable.
