Maintenance Fitter (Hardwood Mill)

Your Next Role:

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to become a key member of our maintenance team. In this role, you will ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of plant machinery and equipment including preventative maintenance and project / improvement works – no two work days will be the same.

A typical day will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment, plant machinery, and related systems,
  • Working collaboratively with the team to identify areas for improvement and implement effective maintenance strategies,
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety standards and company policies during maintenance tasks,
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues, order necessary parts, and conduct repairs in a timely manner,
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status
  • Supporting production teams by ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency,

 

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter or in a similar mechanical maintenance role,
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills,
  • Experience with a variety of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery,
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals,
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards,
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills,
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively,
  • Relevant trade qualifications.

What’s on Offer:

  • A Full-Time role based in Pampoolah, between Taree and Old Bar
  • Work hours of Mon-Fri 7:30am to 4:00pm with very occasional Saturday’s required
  • An attractive salary package will be offered to the right candidate
