About the Role:

Gilshenan & Luton has an opportunity for a Legal Secretary with demonstrated experience within a law firm to join their team. 

You: This support role works closely with 4 solicitors (Director, Senior Associate, Associate and Lawyer) to provide all-round specialist administrative assistance across:

  • Answering and making telephone calls.
  • Transcription of dictation (letters, file notes, interviews etc).
  • Opening new files and conducting conflict searches.
  • Preparing/sending correspondence, and other documents.
  • Filing (electronic on LEAP and hard copy).
  • Creating and collating electronic and physical briefs.
  • Billing, and at times contacting debtors.
  • Archiving.
  • Diary (calendar) management.
  • Other administrative tasks, as required.

Your exceptional interpersonal skills, organisational ability, flexible approach and attention to detail will be the key to your success.

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Must have demonstrated experience within a law firm
  • Experience with legal software – experience with LEAP will be highly regarded
  • Excellent typing and document drafting skills
  • Billing experience
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to apply common sense and initiative
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and deal with competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks quickly and efficiently
  • High level time management skills with an ability to work autonomously
  • Commitment to learning, taking direction and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional level of honesty and hardworking approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ethical standards and sense of loyalty
